The Blue Swallow

It is the 100th anniversary of Route 66 in 2026! We’ve driven much of the famed highway and discovered so many incredible neon signs along the way. These signs reflect time when neon ruled the road, but like the old road, many are showing their advanced age. An exception is the Blue Swallow motel in the windswept, dusty New Mexico town of Tucumcari. The motel is is a delight to stay in and absorb not only the soft glow of the entrance sign, but also the neon tubes that line the entire length of the motel rooms.
